Motorcyclist sustains serious leg injuries after crash with car in Downtown Santa Barbara
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Santa Barbara police and firefighters responded to a crash involving a vehicle and motorcycle at Haley Street and Olive Street around 2:50 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
The fire department said the motorcycle, which had a solo driver, was traveling eastbound on Haley Street when a small sedan attempted to cross Haley Street from Olive Street.
The car ended up colliding with the left side of the motorcycle, crushing the motorcyclist's left leg in the process.
Firefighters said the motorcyclist sustained serious leg injuries. He was wrapped up by emergency personnel at the scene before being transported to Cottage Hospital by AMR.
The two occupants of the sedan were uninjured.
Firefighters helped to clear the scene and left the area to Santa Barbara police who are investigating the cause of the crash.
