VENTURA, Calif. (KEYT) The 2nd annual Oktoberfest! got underway on Friday at the Ventura County fairgrounds.

People lined up early to get in when the gates opened.

Some people dressed in German outfits including lederhosen.

"Yeah lederhosen, just brought the family out, we are going to have some fun, check out all the attractions, maybe have a beer or two, I got these when I went to the Octoberfest 15 years ago and my wife forced me to put them on today and come out, so hopefully we will have a good time," said Taylor Wilson.

Ventura County Fair CEO Heidi Ortiz said there are things for children and adults to do.

"We have lots of German beer, we have lots of German food, we have comedy house, we have a midievil combat on Sunday, a petting zoo, things for the kids, fun for all ages," said Ortiz.

The festival also offers fun passes good for unlimited rides , bounce houses and the petting zoo.

It is open again on Sunday from Noon to 7 p.m. at the Ventura County Fairgrounds by the beach in Ventura.
