Delays expected south of Nipomo due to scheduled Highway 101 road work

NIPOMO, Calif. (KEYT) - Road work is expected to slow down traffic on Highway 101 south of Nipomo for several hours on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2026.

Caltrans is scheduled to perform guardrail maintenance from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. along the southbound lanes of the highway between the Tefft Street on-ramp and Highway 166 off-ramp.

To help facilitate the repairs, Caltrans said one lane of traffic will be closed, which will cause up to 10 minutes of delay time.

To alert southbound drivers traveling to the work site, message and directional signs will be displayed along the roadside in advance of the lane closure.

Caltrans is advising drivers who are planning to travel through the area on Wednesday to prepare ahead of time and leave a little earlier than normal.
