Carpinteria Man Arrested and Over Nine Pounds of Narcotics and Handgun Seized

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. (KEYT) – A 41-year-old Carpinteria man was arrested and over nine pounds of drugs as well as a firearm and ammunition were seized in connection this week.

On Tuesday, Aug. 11, around 1:47 p.m., detectives located a 41-year-old Carpinteria man driving near Calle Real and Turnpike Road and conducted a traffic stop before taking him into custody stated a press release from the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office Thursday.

Detectives identified the Carpinteria man as a suspect during "a proactive narcotics investigation" and obtained a search warrant before he was stopped on Tuesday shared the local sheriff's office.

According to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office, a search warrant was executed at the 41-year-old's home in the 1200 block of Vallecito Road after his arrest and detectives seized about 3.2 pounds of suspected fentanyl, 6.5 pounds of suspected methamphetamine, one ounce of suspected cocaine, a handgun, ammunition, and about $1,100 in cash.

The Carpinteria man was booked at the Santa Barbara County Main Jail on felony charges including possession of narcotics for sale and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person noted the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office.

The local law enforcement agency added that the man is being held on a $35,000 bail.
