Dispute Between Elderly Camarillo Neighbors Leads to Homicide Investigation

CAMARILLO, Calif. (KEYT) – A 78-year-old Camarillo man died after a dispute with his 69-year-old neighbor Thursday evening and his death is now under investigation as a possible homicide.

On Aug. 6, around 8:09 p.m., first responders were sent to the 900 block of Calabria Court for a 78-year-old man not breathing stated a press release Friday from the Ventura County Sheriff's Office.

Despite medical aid rendered at the scene, the 78-year-old Camarillo man was pronounced dead at the scene shared the Ventura County Sheriff's Office.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the 78-year-old had been involved in a dispute with his neighbor, 69-year-old woman, just before the call for medical assistance noted the local law enforcement agency.

According to the Ventura County Sheriff's Office, investigators "learned the female's actions may have caused the decedent to fall to the ground" and the 78-year-old's death is being investigated as a potential homicide pending the results from an autopsy.
