Beachgoers beat the heat along the shore

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (KEYT) The heat is on, but it depends on where people are located.

It is much hotter inland.

That's why people are flocking to beaches.

People at Leadbetter Beach in Santa Barbara brought their kids and dogs.

Many brought cool treats.

They seemed to enjoy the weather better thanks to the ocean breeze.

Eileen Orfalea treated herself to an ice cream cone at the Shoreline Cafe.

"I think it is great, I am from the East Coast and I don't think it is much of a heat wave, I think it is great, I am enjoying every moment of it," said Orfalea.

Others beat the heat by ordering cool drinks while sitting on the cafe patio. 

The heat is expected to last a little longer.
