Beach Hazards Statement issued August 1 at 2:15AM PDT until August 1 at 5:00PM PDT by NWS Los Angeles/Oxnard CA

* WHAT…For the Beach Hazards Statement, frequent, moderate to
strong rip currents and breaking waves due to elevated surf.

* WHERE…Ventura County Beaches.

* WHEN…Through this afternoon.

* IMPACTS… Rip currents can pull swimmers and surfers out to
sea. Waves can wash people off beaches and rocks, and capsize
small boats nearshore.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…High tides of 5.5 to near 6.0 feet will
occur in the evening hours tonight.
Remain out of the water due to hazardous swimming conditions, or
stay near occupied lifeguard towers. Rock jetties can be deadly
in such conditions, stay off the rocks.
