Hot weekend with high surf, Rodeo & Ventura County Fair forecast

KEYT

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. - Friday and Saturday will be the hottest days of the weekend heat spell.

Heat alerts are in effect for most of the region through Sunday evening.

Santa Barbara will rise into the 80s for the afternoon and evening temperatures not cooling below the upper 60s, including at rodeo, with south coast sea temperatures in the low 70s.

Winds look calm for the weekend though high surf is expected in Ventura County plus low 80s at the fair.

Areas will see mostly sunny skies outside of some brief morning clouds.

Slight cooling, back into the upper 70s, should arrive by Monday or Tuesday next week - though this relief looks short lived.

Temperatures land near 80 with sunshine next Friday for the Fiesta Parade in Santa Barbara.
