Simi Valley Man Arrested for Leaving Narcotics at Elementary School Wednesday

SIMI VALLEY, Calif. (KEYT) – A 30-year-old Simi Valley man was taken into custody Wednesday morning for prowling and drug possession after leaving narcotics at a school closed for summer break.

On July 29, around 9:22 a.m., the 30-year-old entered Katherine Elementary School on Katherine Street and asked to use the restroom stated a press release from the Simi Valley Police Department.

The school in the 5400 block of Katherine Street was not in session because of the summer break noted the Simi Valley Police Department.

While inside the restroom, the Simi Valley man undressed with the restroom door open and facing an employee's desk shared the local law enforcement agency.

According to Simi Valley Police, the 30-year-old left the area shortly after and left behind narcotics and officers responded to the surrounding area to establish a perimeter.

Ultimately, the 30-year-old was arrested near the intersection of Yosemite Avenue and Los Angeles Avenue and booked on charges of prowling and possession of a hard drug after two or more prior drug convictions detailed the Simi Valley Police Department.

The 30-year-old has been arrested seven prior times by the same police agency for a variety of charges including hot prowl burglary, carrying a dirk or dagger, theft, and possession of narcotics and his probation status has been upgraded due to his frequent arrests shared the Simi Valley Police Department.
