Fillmore Man Arrested In Connection With February Stabbing on Santa Clara Street

VENTURA COUNTY, Calif. (KEYT) – On Wednesday, a 21-year-old Fillmore man was arrested in connection with a February stabbing on Santa Clara Street.

On February 6, around 10:37 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the 500 block of Santa Clara Street in Fillmore for an assault with a deadly weapon stated a press release from the Ventura County Sheriff's Office.

Arriving deputies found an adult man with a stab wound and he was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for further medical care noted the countywide law enforcement agency.

Detectives took over the investigation and were able to identify a 21-year-old Fillmore man on probation for a gang-related crime after several months shared the Ventura County Sheriff's Office.

In the early morning hours of July 22, deputies contacted the 21-year-old during a probation search and arrested him for the stabbing detailed the Ventura County Sheriff's Office.

According to the Ventura County Sheriff's Office, the 21-year-old was booked at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility for assault with a deadly weapon and he remains in custody pending upcoming court proceedings.
