2nd Annual Santa Maria Valley Senior Expo Drew Large Turnout At Allan Hancock Gymnasium

SANTA MARIA, Calif. (KEYT) - The 2nd Annual Santa Maria Valley Senior Expo offered a vital hub of resources, entertainment and community support today.

Presented by Community Partners in Caring, Allan Hancock College and Dignity Health, the free event ran from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Joe White Memorial Gymnasium at Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria.

The event will be returning annually, and is designed for local seniors, family caregivers, individuals with disabilities and their families.

The expo features more than 100 specialized exhibitors, providing attendees with crucial information on health care, financial planning, independent living, assistive technology and local support services. This initiative aims to centralize knowledge for those navigating senior care and disability resources.

In addition to resource booths, the expo offered a variety of free services and live entertainment.

These included free haircuts provided by students from the Cosmoton Academy, a classic car display hosted by the Model A Ford Car Club, interactive close-up magic by the Central Coast Conjurers and live music from the Saxophone Stylings of José Rendon.

Admission and parking were completely free for all attendees.

The first 500 people through the doors will received a complimentary tote bag filled with event goodies.

Care Connection also provided an ADA van in the parking lot to help anyone with mobility challenges reach the entrance.
