SBCFD

ISLA VISTA, Calif. (KEYT) – Crews are working on a water rescue at Del Playa Drive near Window to the Sea Park in Isla Vista, according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.

The water rescue first emerged just before 12:45 p.m. Sunday and the SBCFD urged citizens to avoid the area for adequate operating room for emergency personnel.

The SBCFD helped two people trapped against the rocks due to high tides and got them to safety using a rope system.

Both people sustained minor injuries from the incident and declined medical treatment as of 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

The SBCFD reminds citizens to use caution near coastal cliffs and shoreline areas during elevated surf and changing tides.
