VENTURA COUNTY, Calif. (KEYT) – On Saturday, a car and two motorcycles were involved in a traffic collision on State Route 150, leaving one of the motorcyclists dead at the scene and the other with major injuries.

The driver of the car had minor injuries at the scene shared the California Highway Patrol-Ventura Area (CHP) in a press release Tuesday.

On Feb. 21, around 10:29 a.m., dispatchers began to receive multiple calls about a three vehicle collision on State Route 150 at its intersection with Old Walnut Road southeast of Ojai stated the CHP.

After an investigation, it was determined that a 75-year-old driver of a gray Audi Q4 on Old Walnut Road was attempting to make a left turn onto eastbound State Route 150 when two westbound motorcyclists, a 67-year-old Porter Ranch man and a 63-year-old man from West Hollywood, were riding side-by-side at the same time detailed the CHP.

According to the CHP, the westbound motorcyclists collided with the Audi resulting in major injuries to the 67-year-old Porter Ranch man riding a Honda CRF 1000. He was later pronounced dead at the scene by first responders.

The other motorcyclist, a 63-year-old West Hollywood man riding a BMW R1250 GS, suffered major injuries as a result of the crash and he was airlifted from the scene to Ventura County Medical Center for further medical treatment explained the CHP.

Alcohol nor drugs appear to have played a factor in the fatal collision noted the CHP, but anyone with more information in this ongoing investigation is asked to call the California Highway Patrol's Ventura Area Office at 805-662-2640.
