Firefighters contain 107-acre vegetation fire in eastern San Luis Obispo County

SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY, Calif. (KEYT) – Fire crews battled a 107-acre vegetation fire near the intersection of Alma Road and Anwannee Trail north of Soda Lake in eastern San Luis Obispo County Saturday.

According to the San Luis Obispo County Fire Department, the Alma Fire threatened three structures in the area, but forward progress of the flames was halted around 3:30 p.m. and the threat to structures was successfully mitigated by responding firefighters. The fire was fully contained by 7:17 p.m. and all resources were made available shortly afterward.

The images below, courtesy of the ALERTCalifornia system, were taken from California Valley Camera 2 west of the fire and shows the large smoke plumes as the fire burned and the burn scar left behind at the scene.
