Ventura police issue evacuation orders for gas leak

VENTURA, Calif. – The Ventura Police Department issued an evacuation order for Bayshore Ave. south of Peninsula St. and Marina Park due to a gas leak.

First responders are at Pierpont looking for dangerous levels of hydrocarbon and residents are advised to avoid the area.

Gas was found leaking into the sewer line and initial evacuation orders went out on Sept. 19, according to the VPD.
