Santa Maria riverbed sparks eight-acre vegetation fire
SANTA MARIA, Calif. – Fire crews put out an eight-acre fire on the east side of the Santa Maria Riverbed, according to CAL Fire SLO.
The fire spread into brush and was 100% contained as of 6:22 p.m. Tuesday as forward progress on the flames stopped as of 3:36 p.m., explained Cal Fire SLO.
The cause of the fire that broke out at 2:17 p.m. is under investigation, detailed Cal Fire SLO.
