Strong winds and warmer temperatures this Thursday

Coastal hazards continue Thursday, where waves could reach 8-12FT near the west facing beaches and 4-7FT near the south facing beaches. A High Surf Advisory is in effect and will expire 8AM Friday morning. It will be a cool and damp morning, with some broken clouds. We have the slight chance for light showers in higher elevations but the rest of the area will stay dry. As far as rainfall totals, the forecast was very accurate with most of the entire Central Coast receiving a half an inch of rain or slightly more. Here in Santa Barbara final rain totals reaches 0.64". As clouds begin to decrease, we will see a shift in winds. Offshore winds will warm us up a few degrees and highs will be back into the lower to middle 60s. Winds will strengthen today and its possible Wind Advisories may need to be issued. Other than windy conditions, clearing clouds and warmer temperatures will the day will be perfect to head out the door!

Friday will warm even further! Winds will stay blustery and will keep temperatures above average. Most of the viewing area will climb back to pleasant temperatures and even a handful of lower 70s! We may see some areas of fog to start out the morning, but any clouds that do develop will clear out rather fast. Friday will be the perfect day to head towards the beach and will kick off a beautiful weekend.

Saturday and the weekend will be pleasant and slightly cooler. Winds transition from offshore and will cool us down to the middle 60s. The marine layer and lower clouds may greet us each morning but will exit rather quickly. Monday and Tuesday of next week will be pleasant, dry and calm. Stagnant weather appears to be the extended forecast.
