Tuesday weather forecast

Santa Barbara, Calif - Low clouds and fog from the marine layer dominated a large portion of the California Central Coast and South Coast sky this morning, but the sun was in charge this afternoon with plenty of seasonable warmth. More areas of low clouds and fog are possible again tomorrow morning, and lows will range from the mid and upper 30s inland to near 50 close to the coast.

A small area of low pressure continues to spin south of California, but it is a minor player in our weather. A broad, strong ridge of high pressure will be in control of our weather late this week, through early next week, keeping highs above average, and bringing a rapid warming of our highs from on Friday, followed by a gradual cooldown this weekend and early next week.

Overnight lows will remain fairly steady and seasonable through early next week, with mid to upper 30s and lower 40s inland, along with mainly 40s and a few lower 50s close to the coast. Highs will warm through Friday and cool through early next week. Coasts: mid 60s to the upper 70s, cooling to the lower 70s. Valleys: 70s warming into the 80s for all before cooling.
