Halloween 2021: Health experts in Santa Barbara County share how to make celebration spooky and safe
SANTA MARIA, Calif. - Health experts throughout Santa Barbara County say this year's Halloween is expected to be safer than last year.
They say surrounding yourself with family and friends who are vaccinated are best if you're hosting a gathering.
For kids older than two who are unvaccinated, doctors say mask wearing is recommended.
If trick-or-treating, the adults can hand the candy to each other for safety.
Doctors say indoor parties are okay if adults who are eligible are vaccinated.
The CDC recommends if celebrating indoors, bring in fresh air by opening windows and doors, if possible.
You can use a window fan in one of the open windows to blow air out of the window.
This will pull fresh air in through the other open windows."
Doctors say if people are unvaccinated, they are still at great risk of getting COVID and transmitting it to others.
