Late runs give Foresters 3-1 win over the Blues as Petty strikes out 10

Santa Barbara edged the Blues 3-1 in summer baseball.

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The Santa Barbara Foresters scratched across some late runs as they edged the San Luis Obispo Blues 3-1 behind an outstanding pitching outing from Zane Petty.

Will Rogers tied the game at 1 with an RBI single in the 7th inning and he added a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the 8th inning as the Foresters won two out of the three games this week against the Blues.

The go-ahead run scored on an error by San Luis Obispo.

Petty struck out the side in the first inning and the Texas Tech pitcher finished the game with 10 punchouts in six innings of work.

The Blues lone run came in the second inning on an RBI ground out by Justin Trimble of UCSB.
