Day defends home turf and advances to final of Women’s Pro Invitational

Kayla Day advances to the finals of the Women's Pro Invitational

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Kayla Day sometimes gives tennis lessons to kids at the Santa Barbara Tennis Club.

She put on a teaching clinic in her semifinal match against Anne Christian Lutkemeyer of Irvine, beating her 6-1, 6-1 to advance to the finals of the 25k Women's Pro Invitational.

Day, who turns 21 on September 28, played flawless tennis against Lutkemeyer using a big lefty serve and strong ground strokes to control the match.

The Santa Barbara native Day will play UC Santa Barbara freshman Camille Kiss of Redlands in Friday's final.

Day also teamed up with Sophie Whittle of Nipomo to advance to the doubles final against Guellermo and Mohamad also on Friday.
