Arellanes scores 20 points to lead San Marcos to key Channel League win over Oxnard

San Marcos beats Oxnard in a key league game.

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - San Marcos got some payback as they knocked off Oxnard 61-57 in Channel League girls basketball.

The Royals Michelle Arellanes scored a game-high 20 points as they pulled within a half a game of first place in league.

Oxnard and Pacifica lead at 5-2 while San Marcos is 4-2.

San Marcos lost at Oxnard earlier in the season by 14 points and trailed after one quarter in this game 18-9.

But Arellanes sparked the comeback with 10 second quarter points.

Maria Martinez-Tomatis added 15 points for the Royals.
