San Marcos outlasts Yucaipa on Day 2 of SB Tournament of Champions in girls water polo

San Marcos defeats Yucaipa 13-9.

GOLETA, Calif. - San Marcos had plenty of firepower even without senior star Ava Stryker who is with USA Water Polo right now.

Freshman Charlotte Raisin and senior Kate Meyer each scored 4 goals to lead the Royals past Yucaipa 13-9 on Day 2 of the Santa Barbara Tournament of Champions.

San Marcos led 5-1 after the first period and 7-4 at halftime.

Later in the day San Marcos lost to Newport Harbor 8-7.

They will play Corona del Mar on Saturday morning in a fifth place semifinal game.

Dos Pueblos lost to Los Alamitos 10-5 and The Bishop's 12-8.

Santa Barbara defeated Murrieta Valley 11-5 and lost to Schurr 8-4.

The 20-team tournament wraps up on Saturday with the championship game scheduled for 3pm at Santa Barbara High School.
