Dos Pueblos edges Bishop Diego 53-50 at Holiday Classic.

CARPINTERIA, Calif. - Dos Pueblos had their 11 point lead entering the fourth quarter trimmed to one point with 1:10 left on a layup by Isaac Veal of Bishop Diego.

But the Chargers turned to senior Grant Hughes who delivered a driving layup with 50 seconds to go as DP won 53-50 on the second day of the Jim Bashore Holiday Classic.

A long three-point attempt by Bryan Trejo was off the mark as the Chargers moved to 2-0 in the tournament while the Cardinals slipped to 1-1.

Hughes and Micah Goss led the way for the Chargers with 14 points.

Luis Fernandez scored a game-high 24 points for Bishop Diego.

Host Carpinteria whipped Grace Brethren of Simi Valley 64-36 and Santa Ynez routed Foothill Tech of Ventura 79-42.
