DP races into second round of the baseball playoffs

Dos Pueblos defeats St. Bonaventure 6-0 in a first round CIF-SS D3 first round game.

GOLETA, Calif. - Dos Pueblos stole seven bases and Jordan Rico pitched six shutout innings as the Chargers blanked St. Bonaventure 6-0 in a CIF-SS Division 3 first round win.

DP will be at Palm Desert on Tuesday, May 10 in a second round game.

Rico allowed just 2 hits and struck out seven. Kellan Montgomery pitched the seventh inning.

St. Bonaventure senior starter JD Goodcase was very good on the mound as he allowed just 1 run on 2 hits and he struck out 8.

The Chargers snapped a scoreless game in the bottom of the fifth inning without the aid of a hit.

Ethan Rodriguez walked and stole second and third. He scored on a sacrifice fly by Gino Darke.

Goodcase was done after five innings and DP feasted on the Seraphs relievers scoring 5 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Jesse DiMaggio singled in Joe Talarico for the second run of the game.

The Chargers pulled off a double-steal and Montgomery raced home to make it 3-0.

Rodriguez knocked in the fourth run with an RBI single and Darke finished off the scoring with a 2-run double to left.
