Northern SB County Athletic Round Table awards announced
ORCUTT, Calif. - There is no awards banquet this year due to Covid-19 but the honors are just as meaningful.
The Northern Santa Barbara County Athletic Round Table announced their year-end awards.
The Male Athlete of the Year goes to Lompoc High School senior Ryan Morgan.
He played three sports at Lompoc and signed to play football at Arizona State.
The Female Athlete of the Year is awarded to Pioneer Valley track and field standout Lauren Carandang.
She broke the school record in the triple jump this year at 36 feet, 2 inches.
Carandang will attend UC San Diego.
The Female Scholar Athlete of the Year is Lompoc volleyball and soccer player Amy Bommersbach who will attend Fresno State.
The Male Scholar Athlete of the Year is awarded to Righetti swimmer and water polo player Kai Karamitsos who will attend UCSB.
The Joni Gray "Heat & Soul" Scholarship is presented to Pioneer Valley senior Christian Morin.
He played football, basketball and baseball for the Panthers.
