SANTA BARBARA, Calif.- Nick Oakley will stay local as he continues his baseball career as the Santa Barbara High School shortstop committed last fall to UC Santa Barbara.

Oakley was off to a strong start to his senior campaign before the season was cut short due to the coronavirus pandemic.

He had slugged a few home runs and had several extra-base hits to lead the Dons to a 5-1-1 record.

His favorite memory was when the Dons won the Channel League championship in 2019.
