Pacifica will play Birmingham in a State playoff game

OXNARD, Calif.- The Tritons want to make more history.

Pacifica already won their first ever CIF-SS football title last week and now they are two wins away from becoming the first Ventura County public high school to capture a CIF-State Bowl championship.

First up is a date at Birmingham on Saturday at 6 p.m. in a CIF-State Division 2-A SoCal Regional.

The two teams played one common opponent and that result should give the Tritons plenty of confidence.

Pacifica routed Crespi 37-10 in a CIF-SS Division 6 semifinal game. Meanwhile the Celts whipped Birmingham early in the season 55-14.

The 13-1 Tritons are ranked #25 in the State by Maxpreps.com while the 8-4 Braves are ranked well outside of 100.

However Birmingham has won seven straight games and won the LA City Open Division championship.
