UCSB Baseball plays first ever home night game and they turn out the lights on Cal

UCSB shines under the lights against Cal

UC SANTA BARBARA, Calif.- The Gauchos scored 15 unanswered runs against Cal to turn a 6-2 deficit into a 17-6 lead and UCSB celebrated their first ever home night game with a 17-7 win under their brand new lights.

Santa Barbara scored 3 runs in the fourth inning, 8 times in the fifth inning and 4 more in the sixth inning as they won their historic home opener.

A big crowd came out to see history and they were treated to nice weather and a 15-hit attack by the Gauchos who improved to 3-1 on the young season.

Cole Cummings, Marcos Castanon and Christian Kirtley all had 3 RBI each.

JD Callahan pitched four shutout innings without allowing a hit and he struck out six to earn the victory.

UCSB is back home under the lights on Friday at 5:30 against Abilene Christian.
