Cooler Weekend to Bring Relief to the Central Coast After Heat Wave

Anikka Abbott/KEYT

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (KEYT) – After a week of intense heat, cooler temperatures are expected to bring some relief and could encourage more people to spend time outdoors.

Parks, beaches and other outdoor spaces may see more activity as conditions become more comfortable.

Health experts at Cottage Health’s Emergency Department and Sansum Clinic recommend continuing to take precautions even as temperatures cool. Staying hydrated, using sun protection and avoiding overexertion can help prevent heat-related illness.

Anyone spending time outdoors should also pay attention to how they are feeling and take breaks when needed, especially after several days of unusually hot weather.
