Oxnard Police investigating arson fire at elementary school

OXNARD, Calif. – The Oxnard Police Department is looking for the person or persons responsible for lighting a toilet paper roll on fire in the men's restroom on Monday afternoon, according to the police department.

The Oxnard Police Department and the Oxnard Fire Department responded to Driffill Elementary School at 910 South E Street for reports of a structure fire just before 2:45 p.m. on Monday, said Commander Alex Arnett.

The fire was quickly extinguished and there were no injuries reported, but investigators determined that someone had lit a roll of toilet paper on fire inside the men's restroom, Arnett said.

The police are searching for the responsible party.
