Oxnard police arrest three on suspicion of drive-by shooting
OXNARD, Calif. -- Oxnard police arrest three people on suspicion of a drive-by shooting on Tuesday night.
On Tuesday around 11:52 p.m., officers responded to a report of shots fired from a car on the 1000 block of Indigo Place.
Witnesses say the car was a dark colored four door sedan and was last seen going southbound on Ironbark Place.
Officers were able to find and stop the car matching that description on the 900 block of Azalea Street.
Police identified occupants including the driver.
They were identified as Monessa Gutierrez, 23, as the driver, Fernando Porras, 24, and Randy Simmons, 32, as the passengers.
Officers executed a search of the car to find an unloaded handgun and empty shell casings.
Officers looked around the original area of Indigo Place and found additional shells casings.
Police arrested all three suspects for multiple felony firearm related charges including possession of a firearm within 1000 feet of a school and possession of a firearm with a high capacity magazine.
Porras, a parolee, was also arrested for being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm and negligent discharge of a firearm from a vehicle.
