Police arrest habitual drug seller in Ventura
VENTURA, Calif. -- Ventura County Combined Agency Team arrested a habitual drug sales offender in Ventura on Friday afternoon.
On Friday, the Ventura County Combined Agency Team (VCAT) completed their investigation and arrested Marcus Waite, 47, Ventura for possession of methamphetamine for sales and possession of heroin for sales.
Waite has been arrested in the past for similar offenses.
In January, VCAT investigators received information that Waite was selling methamphetamine from his residence located in the 300 block of Christman Avenue in Ventura.
Investigators served a search warrant at Waite's residence and seized approximately 268 grams of heroin and 1,402 grams of methamphetamine.
Investigators were also able to locate approximately $29,300 as well as indication of narcotic sales.
Waite was arrested for possession of methamphetamine for sales and possession of heroin for sales, he was booked into Ventura County Jail.
In February, investigators received information that Waite was again selling narcotics from his residence in Ventura.
VCAT began an investigation that culminated in arresting Waite in his vehicle near his residence.
Investigators search his vehicle and seized 906 grams of methamphetamine as well as indication of narcotic sales.
Waite was arrested for possession of methamphetamines for sales and transportation of methamphetamine.
In December, investigators received information that Waite was again selling narcotics in Ventura.
Investigators conducted a third investigation of Waite which ultimately led to his arrest and a search warrant being served at the motel room he was occupying on the 2100 block of East Thompson Avenue in Ventura.
During the search, investigators seized 61 grams of heroin and 162 grams of methamphetamine as well as indication of narcotic sales.
Waite was again booked into Ventura County Jail.
Over the last three arrest, Waite as in possession of approximately 2,470 grams of methamphetamine and 329 grams of heroin.
Official say this combined amount of narcotics is approximately 27,990 individual doses.
The street value of this combined amount is approximately $125,120.
Waite was out of custody in lieu of $50,000 bail for his arrest in January and February.
Waite is currently in custody in the Ventura County Jail on a $200,000 bail.
Detectives are working with the District Attorney's on special allegations during the criminal proceedings that allow for an enhanced punishment.
VCAT is comprised of detectives from the Ventura County Sheriff's Office, the Oxnard Police Department and the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation.
