Ventura High School senior dies unexpectedly after collapsing during school hours
VENTURA COUNTY, Calif. - Students and faculty at Ventura High School are in mourning after a senior student died after collapsing during school hours.
According to the Ventura Unified School District, 12th-grader Antonio Calderon suffered a "grave health incident" and collapsed at the school. He was transported to the hospital, where he later died.
The cause of death was not released as of Friday.
The school district will be staffing counselors, psychologists and administrators to provide support to students and faculty who may have questions, concerns, or just need someone to talk to.
Calderon currently has siblings enrolled in the Ventura Unified School district.
The school district says they will release details about funeral services, if Calderon's family decides to provide that information.
