Southbound Highway 101 temporarily blocked in Montecito after rollover crash
MONTECITO, Calif. - One person was transported to the hospital with minor injuries after a car flipped over on Highway 101 in Montecito Saturday morning.
The crash occurred near the San Ysidro Road offramp in the southbound lanes of the freeway around 11:08 a.m.
California Highway Patrol reported the car had hit a guardrail, causing it to roll onto its side.
Crews responded and found the vehicle sustained significant damage, including a shattered windshield, and was leaning up against the guardrail. The driver was able to exit the car on their own. They were the only person in the vehicle during the crash.

Both lanes of Highway 101 in the immediate area were closed at 11:15 a.m. so that fire engines and tow trucks could access the vehicle and driver.
The driver was found to have sustained minor injuries and was transported by AMR ambulance for medical treatment.
The number two lane of the freeway was reopened around 11:52 a.m. Both lanes were declared open by CHP at 12:09 p.m.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
