Motorcyclist found dead after crash in Santa Maria

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - Santa Maria police are investigating a crash that claimed the life of a motorcyclist Sunday morning.

Around 8 a.m., officers were dispatched to the intersection of McCoy Lane and College Drive after receiving a report of a collision involving a single motorcycle.

After arriving, police said they found a downed motorcycle along with the rider who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The rider is currently described as a man. Further details about his identity are being withheld until his next of kin are notified.

It is unclear when the crash happened or if anyone else was invovled.
