Pedestrian hospitalized with major injuries following crash in Ventura

MGN

VENTURA, Calif. - A pedestrian was hospitalized after being struck by a car in Ventura Thursday night.

Ventura police said they responded to the crash around 8:30 p.m. at Thompson Boulevard and Hurst Avenue.

Their preliminary investigation revealed the pedestrian had been crossing the street in a poorly lit section at the middle of the block when they were struck by a car that was driving west down Thompson.

Police said the pedestrian suffered major injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Their current condition is unclear.

Officers said the driver of the car stayed at the scene and was cooperative with police. Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is encouraged to contact the Ventura Police Traffic Unit at 805-339-4447.
