GOLETA, Calif. - A man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after a three-vehicle crash shut down Calle Real in Goleta Thursday afternoon.

The crash happened at the intersection of Calle Real and N. La Patera Lane at around noon.

Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office, County Fire and paramedics arrived on scene and found three vehicles that were involved in the crash. One of the vehicles had flipped and came to rest on its roof. The driver of the flipped vehicle needed to be rescued by fire crews.

Two people involved in the crash suffered minor injuries and one was taken to the hospital for treatment.

One of the drivers, identified as a 31-year-old Oxnard man, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Calle Real was closed in the area of the crash, but reopened once the scene was cleared.

The sheriff's office said the crash was an important reminder for people to take extra caution when driving during wet conditions and only drive if it is absolutely necessary.
