A motorcyclist was killed in a crash in Goleta

GOLETA, Calif. - The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office has identified the man killed in a motorcycle crash on Friday.

The sheriff's office says 58-year-old Daniel Harris of Goleta was killed in a crash near the Glen Annie Golf Club Friday afternoon.

At around 3:55 p.m. Harris' motorcycle was involved in a crash with a white pickup on Cathedral Oaks at King Daniel Lane. Investigators believe the truck was turning left in front of the motorcycle, causing the crash.

Harris was ejected from the motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the scene. His motorcycle caught fire and spread to nearby vegetation but the fire was extinguished quickly.

Cathedral Oaks Road was closed for multiple hours while the crash was investigated.

The driver of the truck stayed on scene and cooperated with the investigation.

Anyone with information regarding this crash should contact the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office.
