North Beach and Oceano campgrounds at Pismo State Beach are open again

GROVER BEACH, Calif. - The North Beach and Oceano campgrounds at Pismo State Beach have been reopened.

The beach at Oceano Dunes State Vehicular Recreation Area remains open to pedestrian access. Parking is available at the entrances at Pier Avenue in Oceano and Grand Avenue in Grover Beach.

Vehicles are still not allowed on the beach by California State Parks and the California Coastal Commission.

In July, The California Coastal Commission ordered State Parks officials to keep portions of Oceano Dunes State Vehicular Recreation Area closed to vehicles and camping through the end of September.

The City of Grover Beach says that the Oceano Dunes SVRA is an important asset to the region and the City will continue to advocate for a balanced approach with the dunes that supports the local economy and protects the environment.
