Firefighters finish putting out 50-acre vegetation fire west of New Cuyama Monday
CUYAMA, Calif. – Fire crews responded to a 50-acre vegetation fire in the 1500 block of Wasioja Road, west of New Cuyama starting Sunday afternoon and working into Monday.
According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, the fire was fully contained around 11:19 a.m. Monday and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The original call time of the fire came at 5:12 p.m. and all U.S. Forest Service responders were called off of the response Sunday evening when the fire was approximately 80% contained shared the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.
