SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. - The Foodbank of Santa Barbara County is busy preparing for one of its biggest fundraising events of the year, Empty Bowls.

There are events planned in multiple venues and cities across the county.

Hand-made and hand-painted ceramic bowls are sold along with homemade soups during the events that attract large crowds.

Net proceeds benefit the Foodbank of Santa Barbara County and its ongoing effort to alleviate food insecurity in the county regardless of age or background.

Lompoc's Empty Bowls Event will be held on Wednesday, July 26 from 11:30 to 12:30 at the Dick Dewees Community Center at 1120 West Ocean Avenue.
