Santa Maria Police provide update on Friday night homicide investigation
SANTA MARIA, Calif. – Santa Maria Police Department provided an update on Monday about an ongoing investigation of a fatal shooting Friday night.
According to Santa Maria Police Department, the shooting is believed to be gang-related and the 21-year-old Guadalupe man struck by gunfire and transported for his injuries Friday night is expected to make a full recovery.
Investigators with the Santa Maria Police Department detail that the 14-year-old Lompoc resident that died Friday night was treated for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound in June of this year in Lompoc.
The Santa Maria Police Department and Lompoc Police Department are collaborating on the investigation and it is unknown at this time if the June gunshot wound incident is related details a press release updating the Santa Maria Police Department's homicide investigation.
