One man is dead after single vehicle rollover on Highway 166 Monday morning

SANTA MARIA, Calif. – California Highway Patrol (CHP) Santa Maria office responded to a solo vehicle crash on Highway 166 west of Alamo Creek Road Monday morning. The 56-year-old man inside the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.

CHP Santa Maria responded to a single vehicle rollover around 4:46 a.m.

According to responding CHP officers, the vehicle had sustained rollover damage and they located a single unresponsive man inside the vehicle.

Physical evidence indicated the vehicle had traveled up an ascending embankment north of the roadway and overturned before landing on its wheels and that the man inside the vehicle was unrestrained within the vehicle detail CHP Santa Maria.

CHP Santa Maria explain the 56-year-old Grover Beach resident was declared dead on the scene by responding medical personnel.

The cause of the incident is currently under investigation.
