Weekend vegetation fire at Suey Creek Road 100% contained
SANTA MARIA, Calif. – A vegetation fire that sparked just before 1 p.m. on Sunday off Suey Creek Road near Highway 166 in Santa Maria was declared 100% contained on Monday morning, according to Cal Fire San Luis Obispo.

The fire grew to be 14.7 acres, and Cal Fire SLO said that full control is expected sometime on Monday.
When the fire was first reported on Sunday, it was considered to have a moderate-to-dangerous spread rate with the potential to reach 50 acres.
