Lompoc City appoints new City Manager
LOMPOC, Calif. -- The City of Lompoc has found its new City Manager on Wednesday.
On Tuesday night, Lompoc City Council voted to appoint Management Services Director Dean Albro as the permanent City Manager in Lompoc.
Albro will begin his duties on January 3, 2022.
“I’m proud to give back to our Lompoc community that means so much to me, and to be a part of the forward momentum our city is experiencing,” Albro said. “A lot of exciting changes are happening. For public safety. For parks. For public works. We have wonderful city staff here in Lompoc, and that’s a big part of what makes the position of city manager so appealing to me. We have a talented group of people working for the city, and together we will continue the progress the citizens of this city well deserve.”
Albro will be taking over after Jim Throop announced his resignation from the position.
Albro has lived in Lompoc for 46 years. He has gone to Junior High School and graduated from Lompoc High School.
Albro has worked for the City of Lompoc since 2012. He first started as an accounting supervisor before becoming an accounting and revenue manager. He was then promoted to the Management Services Director and has been in the position for the past three years.
Albro has a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of La Verne.
"I'm happy about where the City of Lompoc is heading, and am honored to play a role in the city’s continuing journey," said Albro.
