SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. (KEYT) – A planned burn of a little over ten acres of brush along Highway 154 are expected for the next few days beginning on Monday, April 27.

The planned or prescribed fires along Highway 154, north of the junction with State Route 192, are shown in the image below courtesy of the Santa Barbara County Air Pollution Control District as the green, blue, and purple markers.

According to a joint press release from the local air pollution regulator and the U.S. Forest Service, the planned burns are intended to reduce the fuels for potential wildfires in the area.

The closer map below gives more details on the individual burn locations.

Monday's flames have been spotted by alert residents in the area and windy conditions may result in the rescheduling of some of the burns planned for the next two days.
