Raytheon wins the Foodbank of Santa Barbara’s Hunger Heroes Corporate Showdown
SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. – The Foodbank of Santa Barbara announced Raytheon as the winning company in its Hunger Heroes Corporate Showdown.

Santa Barbara, CA) —The Foodbank of Santa Barbara has successfully concluded its Hunger Heroes Corporate Showdown, announcing Raytheon as the winner of this year’s charitable competition. At the culmination of the six-week event, Raytheon, the aerospace defense company based in Goleta, emerged as the “hunger Hero” in a competitive field.
Raytheon advanced to the finish line and beat out seven corporate teams which included Amazon, CIO Solutions, Deckers, Impact.com, Mater Clean USA, Planet Fitness Central Coast, and Yardi. The competition coincided with the peak of end-of-year holiday giving, the campaign rallied both large and small in a spirited race for the coveted “Hunger Hero” championship. Points were amassed through various avenues including financial donations, food contributions, social media outreach and volunteer hours.
The friendly contest not only fostered spirited competition, but also provides financial support to the Foodbank’s end-of-the year fundraising efforts. The contest surpassed the Foodbank’s financial goal of $50,000 bringing in $61,840. “Throughout the last six weeks, I had the privilege of witnessing the unwavering dedication and commitment from each team. The level of involvement displayed was truly remarkable and deserves commendation,” says Corporate Giving Manager, Jenifer Sanregret. “I want to personally acknowledge the hard work, creativity, and determination that each team has contributed.”
The eight teams collectively donated over 2,407 pounds of food with the members of Planet Fitness Central Coast donating 1,525 of those pounds, landing them recognition as the “Food Donor Heroes” champs. The competing teams collectively put in 67 hours of volunteer time
The Hunger Heroes Corporate Showdown stands as a testament to the power of collective goodwill and community engagement, showcasing the incredible impact achievable when companies unite for a common cause. “Raytheon was honored to be an active partner in this year’s Hunger Heroes Corporate Showdown.
