Local winery combines wine tasting with therapy dogs to support two Santa Barbara non-profits

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Grassini Winery is getting into the spirit of giving by supporting two non-profits in Santa Barbara County.

Grassini Gives Back is the name of the fundraiser which aims to raise $70,000 for two nonprofits: Therapy Dogs of Santa Barbara, and Feed the Valley.

Here’s how it works: Grassini Gives Back will match up to 20,000 dollars for Therapy Dogs of Santa Barbara, and up to $50,000 for Feed the Valley.

With enough community support, that means both organizations combined could make a total of $140,000.

Katie Grassini explained how she hopes this will impact the future of Santa Barbara County, saying, "Therapy dogs are bringing tons of love and support and just really doing wonderful things for the mental well-being of so many people in our community and feed the valley is doing wonderful things to make sure that we're nourishing the physical bodies of the folks in our community.”

On Saturday from 1-3 p.m., visitors can come down to the tasting room for a special in-person party that fuses wine tasting with hanging out with the therapy dogs.

A portion of the proceeds raised Saturday will also go back to helping both Feed the Valley and Therapy Dogs of Santa Barbara.
