California Native Plant Spotted for First Time in Nearly 3 decades

SANTA BARBARA, Calif.— The Santa Barbara Botanic Garden and California Native Plant Society have announced the discovery of a rare California Native Plant.

This plant has not been documented in close to 30 years. This is the only known population of what is classified as Ancistrocarphus keilii, and it’s in Santa Barbara.

We will be speaking to local botanists about what this means for biodiversity in the area.
